The Dinosaur ABC – Music Video for Kids

The Dinosaur ABC – Music Video for Kids

I’m so excited to bring you my new music video for a new dinosaur song: The Dinosaur ABC! I’ve been working on this dino song for quite some time and I’m very happy with how it all came together. I wrote and recorded this dinosaur alphabet song in 2014 and made a Swedish version. However, I never got round to finishing the English version. But now it’s finally here!

The Dinosaur ABC is a fun A to Z rock song with a lot of dinosaurs – one for each letter of the alphabet (of course). I bought a green screen recently and making this video was the perfect opportunity to try it out and learn how to use it in my videos for kids. I filmed all the dinosaurs and myself so I could make us interact in funny ways.

There is also a lot of footage from the dinosaur exhibition A World of Dinosaurs, which is just outside of Kalmar, Sweden, where I live. That’s where I recorded my kids educational series Dino Park which you might have seen on my Youtube channel. I got to film all the dinosaurs in the museum and it came in handy when I did the kids video for The Dinosaur ABC.

I’m very grateful to Roland who runs A World of Dinosaurs. He really welcomed me with open arms and very generously let me document his dinosaur models and use them in my kids videos about dinosaurs.

The Dinosaur ABC is available on iTunes, Amazon Mp3, Spotify and on all other music stores and streaming services. Here is the iTunes link:  iTunes http://smarturl.it/iTunesABC

I’ll let you enjoy the video now.

Tricerasnot… eh, Triceratops – fun Dino Park episode for kids

Triceratops was a dinosaur with horns on its head. But what was the purpose of the different horns? Find out the unbelievable truth in this episode of Dino Park – fun dinosaur facts for kids with Daddy Donut. Tiny T. rex pays a visit too!

The song in this episode is ‘Trixie Triceratops’ and is featured on my debut album ‘DINOSAUR SONGS’, available from CD Baby.

SOME MORE FACTS* ABOUT TRICERATOPS

  • The name ‘Triceratops’ comes from the Greek language, with ‘tri’ meaning three and ‘keratops’ meaning horned face.

  • Triceratops lived in the late Cretaceous Period (around 65 million years ago).
  • The Triceratops is one of the most easily recognizable dinosaurs due to its large body, unique frill and three horns.

  • It needed its three horns to try and protect itself from the Tyrannosaurus Rex which lived during the same time period.

  • It is believed that fully grown Triceratops were about 8m (26ft) in length, 3m (10ft) in height and weighed anywhere between 6 to 12 tons.

  • The skull of a Triceratops alone could grow over 2m (7ft) in length.

  • The Triceratops was a plant eating (herbivore) dinosaur.

  • The first known fossils to be that of a Triceratops were horns attached to a partial skull, found near Denver, Colorado in 1887.

  • Triceratops was represented in the popular Transformers toy line and animated series as Slag, an Autobot that could transform into a Triceratops form.

  • The US state of Wyoming lists the Triceratops as its state dinosaur.

Dino Blues Music Video in the Making

Brachiosaurus_in_the_dollhouseI’ve recorded a new dinosaur music video. This time it’s for ‘Dino Blues’, a song describing a strange day when I woke up and there was a dinosaur at my door. It was my first pet dinosaur and it wasn’t long before it began tearing up the house.

To shoot the video I borrowed a dollhouse from the seven-year-old girl of one of my friends. They were going away on vacation to Thailand so I had plenty of time to play around with the dinosaurs in the dollhouse. But I procrastinated too long and one day I got a text message saying they were on their way home and that the girl wanted her dollhouse back right away. I only had about two hours to scramble, set everything up and shoot the video. I was angry with myself because I had imagined taking a whole day filming and doing it right. But then, my other videos for kids have been done very much on the spur of the moment and they turned out all right.

Anyway, I got all the scenes I wanted, but afterwards I was dissapointed to see that one of the best scenes I shot never got filmed. It was a brachiousaurs munching on a Christmas tree, flipping it over, banging a door open to reveal the terrified owner of the house and then just pulling the Christmas tree out of the door. I must have hit pause when I was supposed to hit the record button (it’s the same button). Well, well. That’s how it goes when you are making kids music videos Daddy Donut style. Just grab the camera and go! I hope to get some time to edit the music video for ‘Dino Blues’ soon. It’s gonna be so much fun and I can’t wait to let you kids watch it.

RAAAOOOW!
