Here is a new episode of Dino Park with some information about an African dinosaur called Ouranosaurus. It was a friendly plant-eating dinosaur but in some aspects it was similar to one of the worst carnivores of all time: Spinosaurus. They both had large ‘sails’ on their backs. But what these sails (or humps) were for, the scientist are not really sure. Daddy Donut has his own theory, of course. Watch the clip to find out and learn some interesting and fun facts about this happy dinosaur.
Dino Park is a kids show with fun facts for kids about dinosaurs.
Ouranosaurus – fun dinosaur facts for kids
Spinosaurus was a friendly, fish-loving dinosaur… or was it? Perhaps it was the worst carnivore ever? Decide for yourself after watching Dino Park – fun dinosaur facts for kids with Daddy Donut. This time: Spinosaurus facts for kids. Enjoy!
Let’s talk about a monster. The biggest, baddest meat-eater of them all. The walking nightmare: Spinosaurus.
You think T-rex is big and scary? Well, here is a hyper-carnivore that was even bigger… Spinosaurus was huge! And it’s more scary than a T-rex. It looked terrifying with its long crocodile-like scull and jaws with deadly teeth.
Remember T-rex tiny arms? Well, look at those massive arms with its huge claws!
Spinosaurus is 100 million years old, so T-rex and Spinosaurus never met. Spinosaurus is 40 million years older than T.rex and Spinosaurus is an African dinonsaur. T-rex lived in North America.
Let’s take a look at the Spinosaurus back. It had sort of a sail, or a fin – something that made it unique in the group of big theropods. The sail might have controlled the body temperature. [Happy] But it could also have been there just to make it look cool.
SOME scientists, believe Spinosaurus didn’t have a sail but a hump, that could store fat, like the hump of camel.
Spinosaurus has only RECENTLY become one of the most ‘Famous dinosaurs. We didn’t know much about it before because there were not enough bones found.
But it was the star of the movie “Jurassic Park III” and after that it became very popular.
Although Spinosaurus is often described as a brutal killing machine, SOME believe it actually fed on fish.
I think that ruins all the fun! I prefer to think of Spinosaurus as the ultimate monster.
T-rex is cool and scary. And I love T-rex. I even joke about it sometimes. But this guy… just sends a chill down my spine. “Spine”? Oh, maybe that’s why they named it “Spinosaurus”.
Spinosaurus – the African monster that sends shivers down your spine.
Then it eats your spine!

The name ‘Triceratops’ comes from the Greek language, with ‘tri’ meaning three and ‘keratops’ meaning horned face.
Triceratops lived in the late Cretaceous Period (around 65 million years ago).
The Triceratops is one of the most easily recognizable dinosaurs due to its large body, unique frill and three horns.
It needed its three horns to try and protect itself from the Tyrannosaurus Rex which lived during the same time period.
It is believed that fully grown Triceratops were about 8m (26ft) in length, 3m (10ft) in height and weighed anywhere between 6 to 12 tons.

The Triceratops was a plant eating (herbivore) dinosaur.
The first known fossils to be that of a Triceratops were horns attached to a partial skull, found near Denver, Colorado in 1887.
Triceratops had anywhere between 400 and 800 teeth, although only a small percentage of these were in use at any one time as they were constantly replaced throughout its lifetime.
Triceratops was represented in the popular Transformers toy line and animated series as Slag, an Autobot that could transform into a Triceratops form.
The US state of Wyoming lists the Triceratops as its state dinosaur.
