Trixie Triceratops – Dinosaur Music Video for Kids
I finally finished a new music video. This time it’s Trixie Triceratops from my album Dinosaur Songs. Me and my two boys had a blast recording this video with our pet dinosaur on a warm summer’s day. Enjoy!
LYRICS
Trixie Triceratops
doesn’t like pork chops
she is the vegetable eating kind
look at her running around
leaves and apples on her mind
and when she’s full she makes a sound
BURP!
and starts singing
RAAOW RAAOW RAAOW!
Trixie Triceratops
doesn’t like pork chops
she is the vegetable eating kind
look at her running around
leaves and apples on her mind
and when she’s full she makes a sound
(what is that sound?)
yeah, when she’s full she makes a sound
(a beautiful sound)
watch out now, she’s gonna make that sound
BURP!

Trixie Triceratops – Dinosaur Music Video for Kids / Preschool Children
Spinosaurus was a friendly, fish-loving dinosaur… or was it? Perhaps it was the worst carnivore ever? Decide for yourself after watching Dino Park – fun dinosaur facts for kids with Daddy Donut. This time: Spinosaurus facts for kids. Enjoy!
Let’s talk about a monster. The biggest, baddest meat-eater of them all. The walking nightmare: Spinosaurus.
You think T-rex is big and scary? Well, here is a hyper-carnivore that was even bigger… Spinosaurus was huge! And it’s more scary than a T-rex. It looked terrifying with its long crocodile-like scull and jaws with deadly teeth.
Remember T-rex tiny arms? Well, look at those massive arms with its huge claws!
Spinosaurus is 100 million years old, so T-rex and Spinosaurus never met. Spinosaurus is 40 million years older than T.rex and Spinosaurus is an African dinonsaur. T-rex lived in North America.
Let’s take a look at the Spinosaurus back. It had sort of a sail, or a fin – something that made it unique in the group of big theropods. The sail might have controlled the body temperature. [Happy] But it could also have been there just to make it look cool.
SOME scientists, believe Spinosaurus didn’t have a sail but a hump, that could store fat, like the hump of camel.
Spinosaurus has only RECENTLY become one of the most ‘Famous dinosaurs. We didn’t know much about it before because there were not enough bones found.
But it was the star of the movie “Jurassic Park III” and after that it became very popular.
Although Spinosaurus is often described as a brutal killing machine, SOME believe it actually fed on fish.
I think that ruins all the fun! I prefer to think of Spinosaurus as the ultimate monster.
T-rex is cool and scary. And I love T-rex. I even joke about it sometimes. But this guy… just sends a chill down my spine. “Spine”? Oh, maybe that’s why they named it “Spinosaurus”.
Spinosaurus – the African monster that sends shivers down your spine.
Then it eats your spine!

Tricerasnot… eh, Triceratops – fun Dino Park episode for kids
Triceratops was a dinosaur with horns on its head. But what was the purpose of the different horns? Find out the unbelievable truth in this episode of Dino Park – fun dinosaur facts for kids with Daddy Donut. Tiny T. rex pays a visit too!
The song in this episode is ‘Trixie Triceratops’ and is featured on my debut album ‘DINOSAUR SONGS’, available from CD Baby.
SOME MORE FACTS* ABOUT TRICERATOPS
The name ‘Triceratops’ comes from the Greek language, with ‘tri’ meaning three and ‘keratops’ meaning horned face.
Triceratops lived in the late Cretaceous Period (around 65 million years ago).
The Triceratops is one of the most easily recognizable dinosaurs due to its large body, unique frill and three horns.
It needed its three horns to try and protect itself from the Tyrannosaurus Rex which lived during the same time period.
It is believed that fully grown Triceratops were about 8m (26ft) in length, 3m (10ft) in height and weighed anywhere between 6 to 12 tons.
The skull of a Triceratops alone could grow over 2m (7ft) in length.
The Triceratops was a plant eating (herbivore) dinosaur.
The first known fossils to be that of a Triceratops were horns attached to a partial skull, found near Denver, Colorado in 1887.
Triceratops had anywhere between 400 and 800 teeth, although only a small percentage of these were in use at any one time as they were constantly replaced throughout its lifetime.
Triceratops was represented in the popular Transformers toy line and animated series as Slag, an Autobot that could transform into a Triceratops form.
The US state of Wyoming lists the Triceratops as its state dinosaur.
This dinosaur museum is located outside Kalmar, Sweden where I live.

I’m excited to announce that I will be producing a whole series of short programmes for my Youtube channel starting May 2015. It’s called ‘Dino Park’ and each episode will feature fun dinosaur facts for kids filmed at ‘A World of Dinosaurs Adventure Park‘ in Sweden.
I’ve only produced the intro clip so far. Check it out!
Finally! ‘Dinosaur Songs’ (possibly the best kid’s album ever) is available on CD from CD Baby. Worldwide distribution. Order your copy of ‘Dinosaur Songs’ now!
Choosing CD Baby as the distributor was fairly easy. So many artists before me seems to have great sucess with them. However, it took me a while to print the CD’s and get everything in order for the release. Today I am pleased to announced that today you can order your physical copy of Dinosaur Songs directly from CD Baby. Get it so you can listen to ‘Running from a T-rex’ and ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’ in your car. Enjoy!
I found this great book for kids online called “How do dinosaurs say good night?”. It’s about how dinosaurs say goodnight and I’m sure kids love it. Listen and watch this clip – it’s the whole book! However it’s a very speedy version but you get a feel for what it’s like and you get to see the all these nice dinosaur illustrations.

‘How does a dinosaur say good night when Papa comes in to turn off the light?
Does a dinosaur slam his tail and pout?…’
Great stuff. It’s got lots of detail and humor and I’m sure children and their parents will love this bedtimes story about the eleven different dinosaur children depicted here. It seems young dinosaurs are much like human kids: They give a big kiss, turn out the light, tuck in their tails, and whisper “good night.” Hmmm. Very well-behaved dinosaurs I would say.
I’ve recorded a new dinosaur music video. This time it’s for ‘Dino Blues’, a song describing a strange day when I woke up and there was a dinosaur at my door. It was my first pet dinosaur and it wasn’t long before it began tearing up the house.
To shoot the video I borrowed a dollhouse from the seven-year-old girl of one of my friends. They were going away on vacation to Thailand so I had plenty of time to play around with the dinosaurs in the dollhouse. But I procrastinated too long and one day I got a text message saying they were on their way home and that the girl wanted her dollhouse back right away. I only had about two hours to scramble, set everything up and shoot the video. I was angry with myself because I had imagined taking a whole day filming and doing it right. But then, my other videos for kids have been done very much on the spur of the moment and they turned out all right.
Anyway, I got all the scenes I wanted, but afterwards I was dissapointed to see that one of the best scenes I shot never got filmed. It was a brachiousaurs munching on a Christmas tree, flipping it over, banging a door open to reveal the terrified owner of the house and then just pulling the Christmas tree out of the door. I must have hit pause when I was supposed to hit the record button (it’s the same button). Well, well. That’s how it goes when you are making kids music videos Daddy Donut style. Just grab the camera and go! I hope to get some time to edit the music video for ‘Dino Blues’ soon. It’s gonna be so much fun and I can’t wait to let you kids watch it.
And here is what the filmmaker writes about the video.
This is based on the famous dragon illusion which was inspired by Jerry Andrus. I’ve always wanted to try this illusion with several of these at once. I wanted to use 20 or 30 but after I tried a test with only 12, I realized 20 or 30 was going to be too many. So another thing I’ve always wanted to try was to have a large version. The original file was about 9 feet X 9 feet. I had to split the image into 4 files so the printer as my local print shop could print it. I traced all of the pieces on cardboard which I used to build a support structure for the prints. I used small pieces of cardboard and hot glue to make the structure really solid. One problem that I had was that the paper for the large dragon was really shiny. So if you look closely you can see the reflection of the eyes on the “top” and side panels. I bought some matte spray to try and minimize the reflections. It worked a little. Over all I was happy with the results.
The t-rex design is an original design used with the Gathering for Garder 3D dragon template. The original 3D template design (dragon) was inspired by the work of Jerry Andrus to celebrate Gathering for Gardner 3. http://www.thinkfun.com
When I discovered Dinovember I was blown away. It was just so great to see how parents Refe and Susan Tuma’s used their creativity to let their kids experience a sense of wonder and excitement about some plastic toy dinosaurs. The same day I found the Dinovember website I started writing a song called “The dinosaurs come alive at night”. It was one of those songs that pretty much wrote itself. I started recording it a few days later. Recording it took about a week. The month of November was over but I felt I wanted to do something to honor the initiators of Dinovember. So I made a music video from Refe’s and Susan’s photos. It’s now finished and available on Youtube. The song is not available on iTunes yet. Instead I made it available as a free download here on the website. That way you can make your own youtube video if you are a Dinovember fan. [UPDATE: The free download campaign is over. Now you can get the Dinovember Song on Bandcamp.]
So here it is: Dinosaurs come alive at night – The Dinovember Song
Enjoy!
Lyrics to the Dinovember Song
In our house there are many toys
fluffy toys and toys that make a noise
then there are the dinosaurs
they’re different from the rest
when we go to sleep at night
they will make a mess
the dinosaurs come alive at night
the dinosaurs come alive at night
they drink from the milk carton
they pee on the bathroom floor
they never beg your pardon
they just roar
the dinosaurs come alive at night
the dinosaurs come alive at night
The dinos can be a handful
they plunder and they loot
They draw on the walls
They steal our eggs and fruit
oh, the dinosaurs come alive at night
it doesn’t happen every night, of course
and I don’t know why it’s just the dinosaurs
and if you try to catch them
up to mischief at four am
they will simply freeze
and pretend it wasn’t them
the dinosaurs come alive at night
the dinosaurs come alive at night
It’s happening all over
It’s spreading across the world
yes, I know it sounds all crazy and absurd
A friend of mine sent me a link to a little gem of a children’s book: “13 reasons dinosaurs don’t make great pets”. I don’t think it has been published so you can read the whole thing online. It’s great reading for your kids even if they don’t like dinosaurs particularly.
