I’m Daddy Donut - the king of dinosaur pop. My aim is to create the best kids music and videos about dinosaurs. All content is family friendly.
I am an independent artist from Sweden. One day I decided to record an album of Dinosaur Songs for children. Once released, it quickly became very popular. I also made a few music videos which grew my audience beyond my imagination. The enthusiasm of my young (and old) fans made me want to produce more great content for kids. I love what I do.
Videos and records are great, but I also do live shows. Last year, I did over 130 live shows, playing my dinosaur songs to kids all over Sweden. Naturally, I hope to conquer the world eventually. However, now I intend to focus on making videos. So join me as I dive into the magical world of dinosaurs in videos that are both funny, weird, exciting and a sometimes a bit scary - but not TOO scary.
Daddy Donut - for kids, and people who love life
This is what they write: “We’ve carefully selected these websites because they are actively working to educate, inspire, and empower their readers with frequent updates and high-quality information”.
And this is what they have to say about me:
“Daddy Donut is a Swedish musician who produces fantastic music and videos for children, all central to the topic of dinosaurs. On this blog you will find posts introducing each of his dinosaur songs and videos, complete with fun and interesting facts about different dinosaurs. Also, kids will learn all about dinosaurs from this unique children’s music, which includes songs about the T-Rex, Triceratops, Brontosaurus, and more.”
It’s a normal day in the park. But wait! Is that a T-rex in the bushes? Nah! It’s probably nothing…
“Did you see a dinosaur today?” is a fun music video for kids we shot last summer in the park in Kalmar where I live. The boys had a great time. I love videos with the inflatable T-rex costume so I decided to get one myself. It was a blast shooting this video as you probably can imagine. Hope you like it. 🙂
LYRICS
Did you see a dinosaur today?
Did you see a dinosaur today?
maybe you think they’re not around
maybe you think they’re all in the ground
then one night you hear a sound
the footsteps of a million pounds!
pa-pa-pa! pa-pa-pa!…
Did you see a dinosaur today?
Did you see a dinosaur today?
maybe you think they’re not around
maybe you think they’re all in the ground
then one night you hear a sound
there’s something in the shadows
Run!
Run!!!

I’m trying hard to put out more dinosaur videos for you guys. In February I gave you The Dinosaur ABCwhich took me forever to make with all the green screen work and editing. This month I have a video which was way easier to make but it sure took some time. I’m sure you’ll have a great time watching it.
Can a Brachiosaurus really drive a car?
Well, the song called “The Old Brachiosaurus” tells the story of an old, weary dinosaur who secretly dreams about owning a car and going round the world. It’s actually the opening track on my kids album debut “Dinosaur Songs” and even though I’ve heard it a thousand times, I still love the song.
I usually don’t play it live, but last month I did a sold out show at the old theater in Kalmar and I decided to play “The Old Brachiosaurs” and have some fun with the audience. I normally don’t have any other musicians or actors on stage with me and I don’t use people in dino suits (once I start doing that there is no going back to one-man shows). But for this show I wanted to surprise my fans. I bought an RC car and had my oldest son sit at the side of the stage operating the car with a remote. When I got to the part where I sing “I really wish I had a car” my son made the RC car go out on the stage to everyone’s delight. I put the Brachiosaurus on the car and played the rest of the song as the Brachiosaurus drove around the stage. It was hilarious!
Making the brachiosaurus music video
I quickly realized I wanted to make a music video with the Brachiosaurus and the car. So I brought both the car and the brachiosaurus on tour with me and started shooting video in different places all over Sweden. It was great fun and people who saw me recording always had a laugh. Sometimes people would stare when they saw an adult man playing with an RC car that had a huge dinosaur mounted on the roof. It was also a really reckless driver and often tested the limits of what the car could handle. It made it drive down slides, rocks, big piles of sand and other strange places to gather some cool footage for the video. I had to cut out so many funny clips of the brachiosaurus crashing. If this dino video becomes popular, perhaps I I can put all those clips togeher for you some day in a follow-up music video for the kids.
Well, enought talk. Here is the video. Hope you like it.
I’m an old brachiosaurus
I have walked near and far
but I’m old and tired now and
I really wish I had a car
then I would travel the world
and run away from the dino herd
I’d go to China on Monday morning
Brazil on Tuesday night
Sweden on Wednesday evening
I wanna see the northern lights
In my car I would go everywhere
the dino girls would just stop and stare
I’d go to Russia on Thursday morning
New Zeeland on Friday night
Hawaii when Saturday’s dawning
but on Sunday I’ll be homeward bound

BRACHIOSAURUS FACTS
(source: www.livescience.com)
At the time of its discovery in 1903, Brachiosaurus was declared the largest dinosaur ever, but other sauropods are now believed to have been much bigger and heavier than Brachiosaurus.
Paleontologists once believed that Brachiosaurus lived mostly in the water, due partly to its nostrils being at the top of its egg-shaped head. But this likely was not the case for several reasons. For one thing, sauropods had air-filled pockets inside their bodies, which would have made them quite buoyant and unstable if they entered deep water, according to a 2004 study in the journal Biology Letters.
Instead, Brachiosaurus and other sauropods stuck to land, and probably even preferred flat land due to the high energetic cost of climbing hills with their incredibly large bodies, according to a 2014 study in the Journal of Theoretical Biology. “They’re not going to climb hills unless by climbing it they are accessing a really good source of energy,” said study co-author David Wilkinson, a biologist at Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom, who adds that the energetic cost is only part of the story. “Clearly, a big animal on steep ground is more likely to fall over and lose its footing.”
Unlike most other other sauropods, Brachiosaurus had long forelimbs that caused its back to incline. If its neck exited its body in a fairly straight line, as is currently believed, this would have resulted in it pointing upwards, though the exact angle and flexibility of its neck continues to be debated.
I’m so excited to bring you my new music video for a new dinosaur song: The Dinosaur ABC! I’ve been working on this dino song for quite some time and I’m very happy with how it all came together. I wrote and recorded this dinosaur alphabet song in 2014 and made a Swedish version. However, I never got round to finishing the English version. But now it’s finally here!
The Dinosaur ABC is a fun A to Z rock song with a lot of dinosaurs – one for each letter of the alphabet (of course). I bought a green screen recently and making this video was the perfect opportunity to try it out and learn how to use it in my videos for kids. I filmed all the dinosaurs and myself so I could make us interact in funny ways.
There is also a lot of footage from the dinosaur exhibition A World of Dinosaurs, which is just outside of Kalmar, Sweden, where I live. That’s where I recorded my kids educational series Dino Park which you might have seen on my Youtube channel. I got to film all the dinosaurs in the museum and it came in handy when I did the kids video for The Dinosaur ABC.
I’m very grateful to Roland who runs A World of Dinosaurs. He really welcomed me with open arms and very generously let me document his dinosaur models and use them in my kids videos about dinosaurs.
The Dinosaur ABC is available on iTunes, Amazon Mp3, Spotify and on all other music stores and streaming services. Here is the iTunes link: iTunes http://smarturl.it/iTunesABC
I’ll let you enjoy the video now.

Trixie Triceratops – Dinosaur Music Video for Kids
I finally finished a new music video. This time it’s Trixie Triceratops from my album Dinosaur Songs. Me and my two boys had a blast recording this video with our pet dinosaur on a warm summer’s day. Enjoy!
LYRICS
Trixie Triceratops
doesn’t like pork chops
she is the vegetable eating kind
look at her running around
leaves and apples on her mind
and when she’s full she makes a sound
BURP!
and starts singing
RAAOW RAAOW RAAOW!
Trixie Triceratops
doesn’t like pork chops
she is the vegetable eating kind
look at her running around
leaves and apples on her mind
and when she’s full she makes a sound
(what is that sound?)
yeah, when she’s full she makes a sound
(a beautiful sound)
watch out now, she’s gonna make that sound
BURP!

Trixie Triceratops – Dinosaur Music Video for Kids / Preschool Children
Here is a new episode of Dino Park with some information about an African dinosaur called Ouranosaurus. It was a friendly plant-eating dinosaur but in some aspects it was similar to one of the worst carnivores of all time: Spinosaurus. They both had large ‘sails’ on their backs. But what these sails (or humps) were for, the scientist are not really sure. Daddy Donut has his own theory, of course. Watch the clip to find out and learn some interesting and fun facts about this happy dinosaur.
Dino Park is a kids show with fun facts for kids about dinosaurs.
Ouranosaurus – fun dinosaur facts for kids
Spinosaurus was a friendly, fish-loving dinosaur… or was it? Perhaps it was the worst carnivore ever? Decide for yourself after watching Dino Park – fun dinosaur facts for kids with Daddy Donut. This time: Spinosaurus facts for kids. Enjoy!
Let’s talk about a monster. The biggest, baddest meat-eater of them all. The walking nightmare: Spinosaurus.
You think T-rex is big and scary? Well, here is a hyper-carnivore that was even bigger… Spinosaurus was huge! And it’s more scary than a T-rex. It looked terrifying with its long crocodile-like scull and jaws with deadly teeth.
Remember T-rex tiny arms? Well, look at those massive arms with its huge claws!
Spinosaurus is 100 million years old, so T-rex and Spinosaurus never met. Spinosaurus is 40 million years older than T.rex and Spinosaurus is an African dinonsaur. T-rex lived in North America.
Let’s take a look at the Spinosaurus back. It had sort of a sail, or a fin – something that made it unique in the group of big theropods. The sail might have controlled the body temperature. [Happy] But it could also have been there just to make it look cool.
SOME scientists, believe Spinosaurus didn’t have a sail but a hump, that could store fat, like the hump of camel.
Spinosaurus has only RECENTLY become one of the most ‘Famous dinosaurs. We didn’t know much about it before because there were not enough bones found.
But it was the star of the movie “Jurassic Park III” and after that it became very popular.
Although Spinosaurus is often described as a brutal killing machine, SOME believe it actually fed on fish.
I think that ruins all the fun! I prefer to think of Spinosaurus as the ultimate monster.
T-rex is cool and scary. And I love T-rex. I even joke about it sometimes. But this guy… just sends a chill down my spine. “Spine”? Oh, maybe that’s why they named it “Spinosaurus”.
Spinosaurus – the African monster that sends shivers down your spine.
Then it eats your spine!

While shooting Dino Park at the Swedish dinosaur museum A World of Dinosaurs last summer we had some problems with dinos on the loose. One day we were trying to film a clip about plants and plant-eating dinosaurs when suddenly a young T-rex surprised me from behind. I tried to keep going but I was too afraid. I had to run for it! I got away okay and I had to go hide somewhere while the personell of Dino Park tried to get the T.rex back where it belonged. You never know what’s gonna happen next when you are working with dinosaurs! Enjoy!

SOME MORE FACTS* ABOUT TRICERATOPS
The name ‘Triceratops’ comes from the Greek language, with ‘tri’ meaning three and ‘keratops’ meaning horned face.
Triceratops lived in the late Cretaceous Period (around 65 million years ago).
The Triceratops is one of the most easily recognizable dinosaurs due to its large body, unique frill and three horns.
It needed its three horns to try and protect itself from the Tyrannosaurus Rex which lived during the same time period.
It is believed that fully grown Triceratops were about 8m (26ft) in length, 3m (10ft) in height and weighed anywhere between 6 to 12 tons.
The skull of a Triceratops alone could grow over 2m (7ft) in length.
The Triceratops was a plant eating (herbivore) dinosaur.
The first known fossils to be that of a Triceratops were horns attached to a partial skull, found near Denver, Colorado in 1887.
Triceratops had anywhere between 400 and 800 teeth, although only a small percentage of these were in use at any one time as they were constantly replaced throughout its lifetime.
Triceratops was represented in the popular Transformers toy line and animated series as Slag, an Autobot that could transform into a Triceratops form.
The US state of Wyoming lists the Triceratops as its state dinosaur.
This dinosaur museum is located outside Kalmar, Sweden where I live.

Which dinosaur’s name is the most difficult to pronounce? Well I’ve always had a hard time saying “parasaurolophus”. But perhaps it’s just because I’m from Sweden. Anyway, I came up with a better name for this duck-billed dinosaur: “trumpetosaurus”. Watch this episode of Dino Park to learn why.
Perhaps I should call it a sausageasaurus instead…
